Decorating when you don’t have time is a real-life issue I keep hearing from my readers and friends.
So many of you tell me, “I WANT to decorate my home, I just don’t have time to DIY all my decor.”
I get that.
There are seasons of life that you just can’t DIY as much as you’d like – and that’s when we buy.
But we buy *smart*, sweet friend.
“Those who don’t have time to DIY…BUY!”
But as always, we look for the nicest items we can find – at the best price possible.
I’ve found a bunch of pretty items for your home that you can buy and won’t take you any more time than the click of a button and opening a box delivered right to your door. No need to even waste time running out to the store! It’s all right here.
Here are some simple ideas for decorating when you don’t have time

This gorgeous macrame wall hanging is a lovely piece and the price is great! As someone who has done macrame, I’m telling you this price is a steal – especially if you don’t have time to make your own.
Handmade signs are such personal pieces, but again…they can take a decent amount of time – especially when you’re doing pretty lettering and don’t have the cool machines that cut out the letters for you. This sign would be a great accent in any home – and it’s handmade! (just not by you) 😉
This mother/daughter team makes lovely laser cut words for the home. These are so fun to hang, prop up on a shelf, above kitchen cabinets, or even just set on a bookshelf.
These candles might just be the best candles I’ve seen yet. They are customized to your state – I’m showing the MN one here – AND they offer “new home” and “I miss your face” candles, too! So many options – and beyond cute – and what a fun way to accent your home – or maybe even a perfect gift for someone you love!
A simple garland, in any color that matches your decor is such a fun way to highlight a corner of your home. Drape it over a doorway, up a staircase, across a shelf, or even just nestled in between your seasonal accents. Now, of course, you can make your own garland – but this post is all about saving time – and not everyone has time to even string felted wool balls onto a string. This one is ready to go for you – saving you time. (and be sure to check out all the other colors this artisan offers – she has LOTS to choose from!)
You’ve probably seen my botanical prints hanging around my house (like in this post). I purchased mine from a favorite local shop – that is now closed, sadly – but when I came across these, I was so excited to be able to share them with you! This is a set of four prints – so you can prop them up, frame them, or hang them like I did here. With prints, you get a lot of impact for not a lot of money…and that’s how we like to roll, amI right? 😉
Decorating when you don’t have time to decorate…well, say goodbye to that stress!
It CAN be done well, with a few well-chosen items.
So if you find yourself in a major time crunch – or just a really busy season of life, give yourself some grace and take some of the pressure off. You DON’T have to “do it all” – sometimes the wisest thing we can do is give ourselves a break and find ways to create a home we love – even when time is not on our side.
I hope this has given you some great ideas, some fun jumping-off points for you take and run with in your own home. As much as we all love to DIY, sometimes, it’s better to just do what we can and spend wisely on a few key pieces that we’ll use over and over again.
From one busy momma to another…you got this. 😉
