This is hands down the fastest way to paint a fence. What used to take an entire weekend now takes only hours.

Wood fences are one of the most economical fencing options out there, but they do require routine maintenance every couple years. Friends of ours have a wood privacy fence and it was in need of a refresher this summer.
The lovely people at HomeRight sent me the Power-Flo Pro 2800 to use and review. I was so excited to use it since I already love their Super Finish Max Sprayer I used on this dresser, this wicker set, and on thisย vintage glider.
One small problem…
Our house has vinyl siding and our small shed out back was too small for such a giant sprayer. It would have literally been done in 5 minutes. ๐ This is where that wood fence I mentioned above comes in. I asked our friends if they’d like us to come over and give their fence a facelift. They were happy to have it done and I was happy we now had a project big enough to use the Power-Flo Pro 2800.
The back portion of their fence, especially, had never had anything applied to it before and really needed some love.
Here’s our not-so-secret fastest way to paint a fence
After following the instructions for priming the machine (video shared at the end of this post), we were ready to start painting. The roller you see in the photo below was for me to go behind Mr 1915 after he sprayed. The roller ensured proper adhesion, since the fence has a rough texture.
The sprayer wasn’t loud and obnoxious, and it applied the paint so smoothly.ย Neither of us could believe how fast it went! We had the entire fence done in 3.5 hours. And that was with an extra run to the store for one last gallon of paint!
Now, as a little disclaimer, we didn’t do the outside of the back fence. There was just too much overgrowth of trees and bushes that don’t belong to our friends.
I think my favorite thing about this sprayer is the fact that you don’t have to stop every few minutes to refill the paint reservoir. You just place the tubes into the bucket of paint and go to town. It saves SO much time and it makes this formerly tedious job go so fast. Praise be!
Just be aware that if you have easy access to all sides of your fence it might take a little longer.
Our friends are happy with their newly made-over fence and we are delighted that it didn’t take us a lot of time! Win, win! Now they have more time to spend with their four adorable children – and won’t be spending a precious weekend trying to update their fence.
Be sure to head on over to the HomeRight blog to read more about this project and many others!
One last word of wisdom: before you tackle spraying any large project with this sprayer, you’ll want to watch this video for proper priming instructions. It walks you through the simple process, step by step.
The fences look great, but I have to say Mr. 1915โs arm impressed me the most.
LOL!!! I’ll be sure to pass that along. ๐ ๐
Ooooooh, this sprayer sounds amazing! We need to restain our fence and this might be what we need.
It looks great!
It’s fabulous!! ๐ ๐ It would do a great job for you!! ๐
