When you want to freshen up your space but don’t have a lot of time or money, this easy five minute wall hanging tutorial will become your new favorite go-to!
I made these simple yet gorgeous wall hangings quite a while ago but haven’t yet given you the step by step in photos. Today I’m going to fix that. There are few things I love enough to leave up for a good long time. These have passed that test as they’re STILL hanging on my walls. You can see their original debuts in the following posts:
And here, in my Living Room Refresh
I love that you can easily and quickly switch them out for different seasons. This same method can be used on a huge variety of prints – vintage or otherwise. So let’s get down to business.
For these five minute wall hanging botanicals, you’ll need the following:
*As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Full disclosure here.*
- botanical prints (my all-time favorites are from Monahan papers and you can read all about them in this post.
- dowels (I use 5/16 inch)
- hot glue
- jute twine or cotton twine (either one works)
First, you’ll cut your dowel to be about two inches longer than the width of your print, which allows you to extend one inch on each side. Then run a bead of hot glue along the top edge of your print.
While the glue is still hot, press the dowel into the glue on the paper. Watch that you don’t get any glue on your fingers. It hurts like heck. Ask me how I know.
Once the glue has cooled, tie your cotton or jute twine – either one works, (but I actually prefer the jute).
Repeat for your next print.
And that’s it! Hang wherever you like and enjoy!! I’m betting you’re going to love this five minute wall hanging so much, you’ll leave it up most of the year.
When it’s time to store it/them away when you’re ready for a change, carefully roll them up and use a rubber band to keep them neat. Now they’ll remain in great condition for next season! Enjoy!
