You’ve got a full-blown case of Spring Fever and all you can think about it getting outside and into a GARDEN. The sun is shining, the weather is finally warming up and you’re ready to get up close and personal with adorable little seeds and plants. I feel ya – I’m there, too.
But as you look out your window, you’re reminded that you don’t have much of a yard. Or maybe a yard at all. Much less a “real” garden.
No worries, sweet friend!!!
Since I’m also tight on space for gardening, I’ve decided to hunt down some easy ideas of great ways we can get our garden on – no matter where you live. So without further ado, check out these fabulous ideas you can incorporate today…

Five Easy Garden Ideas
If you’re not much of a veggie gardener, and you prefer to grow pretty, whimsical things, this super cute fairy garden from Farmhouse Made is for you – and stress-free? Count me in!
(this is also a great way to get kids involved and outside more – make happy memories!)
Oh – and these chalkboard markers can be whipped up in no time – all the heart eyes!
Do you find yourself liking the idea of composting but don’t want to deal with the hassle of achieving the right balance of ingredients/moisture/heat for a proper compost bin? Not to mention the appropriately timed turning of the compost that needs to be done. Susie from The Chelsea Project shares her crazy-smart, no hassle way of composting here! This just might change the way you look at composting…
You may not have much space for a garden, as a matter of fact, you may only have a small cement slab out your back door. If you’ve got even just a few feet of space, you can build a TALL raised bed garden. No back-breaking bending over, no tilling, no fencing to keep the bunnies out. My Dad and I built a set of these table-height raised bed gardensΒ last summer and they are fabulous!!
Vertical Garden Ideas
Check out these ideas for going vertical with your garden. Flowers, herbs, veggies, you can grow almost anything in these!
I love Toni’s Recycled tin can planter AND lantern idea here! Don’t you just want to paint all the things this gorgeous copper color now? I know I do!
Claire’s upcycled window herb planter is on point with these bee stencils and chippy paint. Hang it outside and you’ve got another vertical garden option.
Just For Fun
And lastly, while this one isn’t necessarily a gardening idea, it IS perfect FOR the garden! Ever since I first saw this solar garden chandelier, I’ve wanted to make one for myself. I think I have the perfect chandy for it, too! I’m sure there will be a post coming about it this summer. π All the inspiration for this comes from LeeAnn at Diva of DIY – get the full tutorial here!
I hope these few garden ideas have given you the confidence to grow whatever you love, no matter where you live. π
So I say let’s crank up the music and head for the closest garden center to fill our arms with seed packets, seedlings, potting soil and then, “Let’s PLANT”! You know there’s nothing like feeling the sun on your back as you work with the soil and plants while listening to the birds sing their songs above you.
Plant All The Things! <3

What a lot of great resources. I love that stenciled window. I used the little chalkboard markers last year in some small bowls I planted herbs in…kept just outside my kitchen door for quick picks! Compost containers are getting so pretty. I almost bought one at world market this past week, but the last time I did it sat for 2 years on my kitchen counter…scary! I need to see what Chelsea Project does. Thanks for joining Favorite 5!
